Our
Story

The Grants Pass Food Project was founded in 2013 by a group of concerned residents connected to the Josephine County Food Bank. They realized that many of their neighbors wanted to help fight hunger, but for one reason or another lacked the resources, knowledge, or time to do it. Motivated by the success of the neighboring Ashland and Medford Food Projects they implemented the simple, door-to-door food collection system. Now, neighbors in Josephine County are easily able to do their part in the fight against hunger!

They had three goals:

  1. To provide a regular supply of food to hungry neighbors
  2. To create new neighborhood connections and strengthen the community
  3. To serve as a model for other communities

Please join us as we fight food insecurity and nourish our communities, all with the help of a little green bag. We are always looking for more Neighborhood Coordinators and Food Donors—check out our Contact Us page to get in touch with us and see where you can help!
